In his first varsity start, JEREMY MAENZA THROWS NO HITTER FRIDAY NIGHT!!  That was the story after the game on Friday.  The Lobos would give Jeremy plenty of run support to get the win 11-2 over Kincaid High school.  Hayden Jones would give The Lobos the lead with a solo HR in the second inning, and never look back. The Lobos would get 9 hits on the night. The game was close all the way to the end, Kincaid would get 2 in the top of the 6 inning with 3 errors by the Lobos. But Langham would explode in the bottom half of the 6th and put 9 runs up, on big hits from Rand 2b, Tillman 2b, 3RBI, also on the night Macalla would have 3RBI, Singles by Hodges RBI,Taylor RBI, Ellison RBI, Erck RBI. Solid start to the young season Lobos 2 wins – 0 loss. Maenza line on the night 87 pitches, 9 strike outs 2 walks, Awesome job!!

The Lobos drop 2 games on Saturday to end weekend on sour note:

First up was The Woodlands, the Lobos could not get the bats going in this contest as The Woodlands pitcher would take a no hitter of his own through 6 innings. The Lobos would finally get 2 hits in the 7th but could not produce any Runs in the game Score was 5-0 The Woodlands. Hayden Jones would get the start in the contest and pitch 4 innings, The defense would give up 3 errors and cost the Lobos early in the game. Jones would give up 3 hits on the day and 4 runs 3 of the 4 were unearned due to errors. Cameron McCartney would come in the 5th and go 3 strong innings Continue reading

The Lobos add 2 more marks in the win column with victories over Cy Creek and Cy Springs.

 LCHS vs. Cy Creek

The Lady Lobos started strong, within a few minutes,  a great through pass by Emily Castro to Maria Sopher, who crossed to Ashley Gleghorn, who had a great shot on goal, but unfortunately the goalie was there to catch it. Even with great defensive playing by Leah Harlan, Nikki Germenis, Nickie Schaaf, and Dana Clancy, goalie Kayla Damm was hurt about 5 minutes into the game. Goalie Kacie Paine came in and started off with a great diving save off of a free kick, as Langham was getting a lot of fouls called on them. That seemed to make the Lobos lose their rhythm and they started playing too much defense vs. offense. With about 13 minutes left, Cy Creek really started pouring it on the Lobos and had a great opportunity to score off of a free kick, but the ball went over the goal. Their defense was having their own problems as the Lobos offense kept pushing down and whenever the ball went to them deep on their side of the field, they would kick the ball out of bounds, giving the Lobos the throw-in. However, the Lobos couldn’t capitalize on the good field position, and at half the score was 0-0.

Second half started with Cy Creek running the ball down the field, but the Lobos caught a break as the Cougars were called for a handball. The Lobos were just as determined and about 3 minutes into the half Continue reading

Greetings Lobo Soccer Fans,

The Men’s Soccer Program ends another week of District 17-5A play as we moved past the halfway point with our matches Friday night.  Both teams had a favorable week, as the Varsity collected 2 results with a 3-1 match against Cy-Creek and then followed it up with a 3-0 result over Cy-Springs extending their record to 15-1-2 overall and 5-1-1 in District play.

Our JV recorded a 1-1 draw against Cy-Creek on Tuesday but got back on track with a 2-0 result over Cy-Springs on Friday to push their record to 7-0-3 and 3-0-1 in District 17-5A play.

This week sees both teams in action only once, on Friday night at Jersey Village with the JV kicking things off at 5:00 and the Varsity at 7:00.  Come out and support your Lobo Men’s Soccer team in game 8 of their district fixtures!

A night after showing their offensive power the Lobos struggled at the plate against the Cy Ranch Mustangs. Jordyn Anders scored the lone run. After Anders walked, Kaylyn Medcalf singled to move Anders over then Courtney Hendley got the RBI on a ground out. The Lobos stranded four runners which made the difference in the outcome. In the field Langham Creek continued to be solid. The defensive highlight was a throw by senior Kaylyn Medcalf from center field to the catcher Melinda Dobsky who tagged the Mustang baserunner at home plate. Anders pitched the full seven innings with only one walk. The Lobos fall to 2-1 in district play and face Cy Fair at home on Friday.

The Lobos started the season last night with a impressive win over Westside High School in The Woodlands tournament. This was the first action the Lobos have seen in two weeks due to rain outs of the last three scrimmages. The Lobos would jump out to an early lead with a RBI single by Hayden Jones, driving in Taylor Hodges who was hit by a pitch in the 1st, and never looked back. The bats for the Lobos finally went to work with multiple hits from the top to the bottom of the order. Westside would use 5 pitchers in the contest as the Lobos would score 10 runs on 16 hits. Lobos win 10-4.

Brandon Montalvo threw a complete game 5 hitter, with 7 K’S and 1 Walk on 78 pitches, and picking off 2 runners at first who wondered too far from the bag, and allowing 4 runs. Great Defense again for the Lobos as they shut down Westside most of the night. The Lobos had some big extra base hits on the afternoon. Jones would HR, Connor Macalla was 3-4 with a double, Montalvo had a triple off the center field wall, and a double down the LF line. Hodges had a double, Ellison a double to RC, and Rand, Erck and Taylor would all have hits as well as stealing a few bases with some solid base running. Heath Tillman was behind the plate and did a great job in his first Varsity start. Next up for the Lobos is Kincaid High school tonight at The Woodlands.
