The Texas Tennis Coaches Association announced the selection of its annual Academic All-State Team. Recipients are selected for outstanding academic records as well as participation on the tennis court. Representing Langham Creek on this elite squad are seniors Austin Harper and Yoon Cho. Great job guys!

Your Lobo tennis team completed its spring season on Tuesday and Wednesday at the regional tournament in Waco. Representing Langham Creek well in mixed doubles were Austin Harper and Hannah Witherspoon. Blake Adrian and Lucas Bombonatti advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated in boy’s doubles. Sophomore Steven McMullan placed third in boys singles just one match short of the state tournament. Great job tennis and congratulations on your record breaking season!!!!

The tennis season came to an end on Wednesday for the Freshman and Junior Varsity tennis teams with the playing of the District UIL tournament.
Coach Hermsdorf was very proud with the showing of the Lobos.
Winning in the Freshman division were:
- 4th place…….Andrew Gee and Jimmy Nguyen in boys doubles.
- District runner up ( 2nd place) was Ryan O’Keefe in boys singles
Junior Varsity Division
- 4th Place……..Lydia Forehand in Girls Singles.
- District runner up ( 2nd place) Mixed Doubles….Grant Gohlke and Staci Smith
- District runner up ( 2nd place) Boys Doubles…….Cory Choate and Phi Nguyen
- District runner up ( 2nd place) girls doubles…….Ina Evelant and Jennifer Carantza
And last but, definitely not least, Christina Tremel is the Cy-Fair UIL district champion in Junior Varsity Girls singles. Christina won first place honors in a hard fought match over the # 1 seed player from Cy Falls.
Coach Hermsdorf wants to thank all the tennis players for their hard work and dedication this season! He is very proud of the attitude that almost all players have demonstrated throughout the season. See you next year!!!!!
The varsity tennis season completed their regular season last night at the finals of the district tournament.
- Placing third place for the Lobos were: Anna Silkwood in girls singles and Todd Burack and Jeff Lo in boys doubles.
- Placing second and qualifying for regionals were: Austin Harper and Hannah Witherspoon in mixed doubles and Blake Adrian and Lucas Bombonatti in boy’s doubles.
- Steven McMullan won the district championship in boys singles, also qualifying him for regionals in Waco on April 20th.
- The girls team won third place overall.
- The boy’s team finished with the highest team total and took home the district championship. Great job tennis team!!!!
Your varsity tennis team continues its record breaking season in the finals of the district tournament today at 3 pm at Cy-Woods. Competing for third place and for a possible playback for regionals are: Jeff Lo and Todd Burack in boys doubles and Anna Silkwood in girls singles. Competing for first place and the district championship are: Austin Harper and Hannah Witherspoon in mixed doubles, Blake Adrian and Lucas Bombonatti in boys doubles and Steven McMullan in boys singles. The 9th and JV tennis teams participated in the last CY-Fair tennis tournament played as a tune- up for the district tournament on April 6, 7, & 8th. Winning for the lobos were as follows:
- Christina Tremel won second place in JV singles
- Cory Choate and Phi Nguyen won consolation in JV Boys Doubles
- Jennifer Carantza and Ina Evelant won consolation in JV Girls Doubles
- Jimmy Nguyen and Andrew Nguyen won third place in freshman boys doubles
- Shannon Siwald won consolation in JV girls singles.
- And in a very hard fought, entertaining, and well-played match, Heath Bromley won first place in JV Boys Singles.
Heath won in a 13 – 11 tiebreaker in the 3rd set.
Congratulations to everyone!!
The Lobos will participate in District on Tuesday April 6 with the boys and mixed doubles playing….
- Varsity will play at Cy Wood
- JV at Cy Falls
- Freshman will play at Cy-Ranch
On Wednesday April 7………… the girls will play………..

Your Lobo tennis squad competed with 32 of the top teams in the state at the A&M Consolidated tennis tournament this past weekend. Steven McMullan placed second in boys singles. Hannah Witherspoon and Austin Harper placed 7th in mixed doubles. Jeff Lo and Todd Burack placed 9th in boys doubles. The Lobos finish up the regular season next week with their district tournament beginning on April 6th. Good luck net squad.

The 9th Grade and JV tennis teams participated in the Klein tennis tournament on Thursday, March 4.
Winning for the Lobos were:
- Staci Smith and Alana Mueller won first place in JV girls doubles
- Logan Patton won 3rd place in Freshman boys singles
- Ibrahim Noorbhai and Justin Ousley won third place in JV boys singles.
I would also like to take this time to mention a player that was left off the last Lobo Blast. Lydia Forehand won 2nd place in JV singles at the Woodlands tennis tournament on February 23. Congratulations to Lydia.
The tennis teams will not play until March 31st when they play in a Cy-Fair tournament which is the last tournament before district play begins on the 6th and 7th of April.

Congratulations Lydia Forehand , she won 2nd in girls singles at the JV Tennis Tournament at Woodlands High School on Feb. 24th!
The Top Junior Varsity players participated in the Woodlands tennis tournament on Wednesday February 24.
Winning for the Lobos were:
- Phi Nguyen and Logan Patton won first place in doubles
- Matt Wheeler won first place in boys singles
- Doubles team of Christina Tremel and Sydney Denman won consolation
- Andrew Bradley won consolation in boys singles
- Also Ina Elevant won 3rd place in the Cy Fair tournament last week.
Next week, on either March 2, March 4, or March 5, the same members of the JV team will play in the two Varsity Tournaments. The 9th graders and the rest of the JV team not playing in the varsity tournaments will play in the Klein tennis tournament on Thursday March 4.
