We are proud to announce that a pair of Langham Creek High School Track and Field athletes signed with their respective universities to compete in intercollegiate athletics in 2010-2011.

• Senior Middle Distance Runner Grace Williamson signed with the University of San Antonio.
• Senior Hurdler Chyna Calloway signed with the University of Louisiana – Monroe.

The Lobo Varsity Girls Track and Field team went on the road Monday and Tuesday night to compete in the Region 2- 5A Track Meet at Baylor University.

Grace Williamson competed in the 800 meter dash placing 6th place competing against one of the toughest fields in the state of Texas. Chyna Calloway placed third in her preliminary heat of the 300 meter hurdles barely missing the finals by one-hundredth of a second in adverse weather conditions. The 4 by 400 meter relay team of Chyna Calloway, Brandi Ellies, Grace Williamson, and Sarah Shim competed very well however were unable to make the finals.

The Track team overall had an outstanding season finishing with Grace Williamson ranked amongst the top 50 in the United States in the 800 meter dash and currently holding the school record. Chyna Calloway ranking amongst the top 40 in the United States in the 300 meter hurdles and also the 4 by 400 team finished amongst the top 30 in the state of Texas. Congratulations ladies on a wonderful year and record breaking season!

Track Parents and Athletes,

Please mark your calendars to attend the 2010 Track Awards Ceremony. It will be held in the Langham Creek Teaching Theater on Saturday, May 22nd from 6–8 p.m. Coach Ramirez will give out the track awards for this season. Food and drinks will also be provided.

If you have any pictures or videos from the track meets please give them to Coach Ramirez. He is making a slide show to present that evening.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you there to celebrate the hard work of these young men this season!

They competed at the 15-5A District Meet yesterday at CyFalls HS. The results are:

• Grace Williamson in the 800m run
• Chyna Calloway in 300m hurdles
• Chyna Calloway, Brandi Ellies, Grace Williamson and Sarah Shim in the 4 by 400m Relay

The ladies finished 2nd in all of their races advancing them to another year of competition at the Regional Meet in Waco April 23-24th.

What a great job ladies!!!

Our awesome track team is needs a LIAISION and we need parents, friends, siblings, etc to volunteer to work the concession stand at the upcoming Track Meet.

Langham will be hosting two middle school girls track meets as well as our own girls meet. We really need some parents to help with the concession stand during these meets. We can not operate the concession stand without volunteers….no volunteers….no concession stand.

It easy, it’s fun, it’s for the girls!! I would also like to encourage a parent to become the liaison for girls track. Contact me TODAY!!

The Varsity Girls Track team competed at TSU Relays over Spring Break. On Friday, the Sprint Medley Relay, ran with DeeDee Davis and Sarah Shim running the 200 legs, Chyna Calloway on the 400 leg and Grace Williamson running the 800 leg placing 3rd overall and running the 3rd best time in the state with a time of 4 minutes and 12 seconds. Congratulations LADIES! Come out and support your STATE ranked Girls Track Team at the CY Fair Invite this Friday at Cypress Woods!

ATTENTION VOLUNTEERS…WE NEED YOUR HELP! Langham Creek will be hosting two middle school girls track meets on March 24 and March 31. Currently we do not have a girls track liaison so I am looking for volunteers to work the concession stand for both track meets. Can you please send a request to your team rosters asking for volunteers. Any NHS students who would like to receive volunteer hours are also encouraged to help. Please let me know if you can help!

Congratulations to our Freshman Boy’s Track Team for finishing in 1st Place with an impressive point total of 217 points. The closest team was 60 points away.

• 1st place winners are: Dawson Protz (3200 M Run, 1600 M Run), Michael Riley (800 M Run), Eric Faulkner (Pole Vault), Andrew Juergans (110 High Hurdles, 300 M Hurdles), Foster Brown (Shot Put), Ryan Richards (High Jump).
• 2nd place finishers are: Ryan Richards (Long Jump), Kwadjo Annor (110 High Hurdles), George Gayton (3200 M Run), Clarence Fernandez (Discus), Cip Marin (400 M Dash).
• 3rd place finishers are: Sprint Medley Relay (Evan Williams, Nick Wiese, Ashtin Mathews, and Jean Gonzalez), 4 X 400 M Relay (Cip Marin, Brandon Longwell, Tanner Bennett, and Jean Gonzalez), Ryan Roderman (Pole Vault), Brandon Longwell (400 M Dash), Mitchell Fleck (800 M Run), Jordan Howren (110 High Hurdles), Kwadjo Annor (High Jump) and Jean Gonzalez (Long Jump).

Congratulations to our Junior Vasity Boy’s Track Team for finishing in 1st Place with a point total of 148 points. 1st place winners are: Sprint Medley Relay (Xavier Kelly, Daniel LeBoeuf, Cornezz Manuel, Ryan Oxenreiter), Evan Epps (3200 M Run), Cornezz Manuel (100 M Dash), and Chris Morales (300 M Hurdles). 2nd place finishers are: Jose Gonzalez (110 High Hurdles), and Cornezz Manuel (Long Jump). 3rd place finishers are: Chris Morales (110 High Hurdles).

Coach Ramirez, Coach Perry and Coach Trial are proud of both teams for their hard work and effort.
