2009 Woodshed Dual Challenge @ Brazoswood High School 12/12/09

The Langham Wrestling team made history this past weekend winning it’s first Team Tournament ever. The Lobos dominated from start to finish.

Langham started the day by destroying district rival Cy Ridge 59-21.

Conroe was next for the Lobos…they were obliterated 79-9. Cy Creek, who was picked by many to win the district, was the next victim. The Cougars were crushed 75-6, winning only 1 out of 15 matches.

Tournament host and favorite Brazoswood was next for the Lobos. In what was SUPPOSED to be the match of the day, Langham came out and sunk the Buccaneers 55-22.

Oak Ridge was the final victim for Langham, falling hard 57-26.

The Championship was a complete and total team effort, but standing out for the Lobos were tournament MVP Jacob Ahquin and Jose Gonzalez who both went 5-0 on the day.

Not to be outdone by the boys, both Shanay Colyar and Margaretta Addy brought home the gold winning individual Championships at their weight classes.

Coach Froehlich

We are inviting all track parents to please come out Thursday, December 17, at 6:30 in the Teaching Theater for “Meet the Lobos”.  We will be introducing our 2010 track coaches as well as go over our policies for the up and coming season.  Each parent that attends will receive a 2009-2010 Lobo Track and Field Manual which will define all of our policies and give background information on important questions that you may have on the program.

Thursday night was a great night for the Lady Lobo soccer teams. Coach Humberto Abitua had parents from both the Varsity and Junior Varsity squads for a great meeting to start the season off. There are 9 seniors on the Varsity team so we are looking for a great year with lots of success from both teams. They are both strong and so far several teams have called Coach Abitua wanting to play the Lady Lobos prior to the start of the season because they have heard how tough we are!

Congratulations to both teams! Rosters are attached. We will start the season out on January 6th as the Lobos take on Caney Creek. Both Varsity and Junior Varsity have been practicing hard already. Look for updates as we move through our fantastic 2010 season.

The girls swim team took home the gold last night, beating Jersey Village and Cypress Lakes. Outstanding swims go out to Marie-Claire Topper in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke, Morgan Sharp in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Rachel Olson in the 100 fly and 100 back, and Amy Syzdek in the 100 backstroke. The girls 200 Medley ‘A’ Relay and 400 Free ‘A’ Relay did an outstanding job, both earning their first place victory.  Way to go Lobos!

The Boys Varsity Swim team won a Tri-meet victory against Cy Lakes and Jersey Village last night. Incredible finishes left the other teams far behind as John Eno placed 1st in the 200 Medley and 100 yard Backstroke.  David Topper also won both the 200 yard freestyle and 100 Butterfly and Thomas McNulty took in another first in the 500 freestyle. Good work Boys!!!

Congratulations to the Boy’s Basketball Team for the win in overtime last night over CE King.  It was a tight and intense match-up the entire game and our boys came out on top 74-68!

The Tournament play continues today with Langham playing at 4:00pm at home.  Come out to support our highly-ranked Lobos!     09-10 CFISD Varsity Tournament Bracket
