(by the way, this site was previewed yesterday and it’s a really cool site to be a part of and it also links to your twitter account if you choose to select that option. Looks like this will be a good thread to discuss issues at Langham Creek! Way to go, Dr Johns!)

This Friday, January 29th, the Lady Lobo Varsity Soccer plays Cy Ranch at home in the first district game of the 2010 season. The game begins at 7:00 p.m., right after the Lady Lobo JV Soccer game. Come out to watch and support the girls! This is the first of 3 home games (Tuesday, February 2nd – Cy Springs, Friday, February 5th – Cy Creek) before playing Cy Fair on February 9th away.

Parents of the Lady Lobo Varsity Soccer girls have spent the last several weeks updating the locker room, which they share with the Lady Lobo JV Soccer team and JV & Varsity Softball teams. The parents put lots of time and love into making the locker room special for these amazing daughters/athletes. A few pictures are attached. A special thanks goes out to all who pitched in! The girls are very appreciative.

Thanks,

Lobo Baseball Nation,

I spoke to Coach Sedeno today, and as most of you may know by now, Coach Sedeno’s Mother-in-law is in the Hospital in Odessa, Tx.  Coach Sedeno and wife Diana are currently there for the week to help with her care. Please keep the entire Sedeno family in your prayers.

Coach Sedeno wanted me to send out a thank you to the entire baseball family for the tremendous participation and effort on the workday Saturday morning.  The field looks awesome and Coach sends a special thank you to all those parents and players who were able to assist Saturday morning.  The new LOBOS Halo around home plate was installed Monday and Coach says it looks great.

On behalf of Coach Sedeno, thanks again for all the help.

Greetings Lobos Soccer Family!

What an amazing evening Friday night; one that words will never be able to describe. I can’t begin to even explain the atmosphere, emotion, intensity, in any other way than saying it felt like the biggest game I have ever been fortunate to be a part of as a player and a coach. This was the 500th match for the LCHS Men’s Soccer Program, and simply stated, it was remarkable.

I think over the first 3-weeks of the pre-season, the players focus has solely been on Friday night, and making sure it was everything they possibly could imagine, and I believe that it was. The signs, the number of supporters, the pre-game activities, the kickoff with 10 taking the field, the play throughout the match, the conclusion of the match with 10, and the post-game presentation of the game-ball were all elements that these young men all wanted to be a part of the night.

One goal going into this evening was for all players on our Varsity to get the opportunity to take the field for this special occassion, and it was amazing to be able to see all 31 of the LCHS Men’s Varsity get an opportunity to take the field to honor their teammate, and friend; ultimately collecting their 3rd victory of the season on a night to honor #3! The side was relentless, and were unstoppable on the evening, scoring in flurries and dominating play in all aspects, tallying a 7-0 victory which pushes their pre-season record to 3-1-4. The Junior Varsity also was victorious on the evening, collecting a 5-1 victory and pushing their pre-season record to 4-0.

There are so many great photos and videos of the event, and I have shared the video taken by our LC Soccer Media Tech online at YouTube of the “Minute of Applause” and the “Party in the USA” pre-game commemorative dance online at the link below.

Please feel free to share pictures, videos, etc to the group, and if anyone would like a copy of the DVD of the entire match, as well as the video posted online, please get me a Blank DVD disc and I will gladly make you a copy.

Thank you to all those that assisted in making this evening possible, and a special thanks to ALL the fans who attended and showed their support.

TENNIS UPDATE:

Despite illness and SAT testing, your Langham Creek tennis team made a good showing at the Woodlands this past weekend. Caitlyn Kapalski and Nicole Perry won first place and Melina Twyman and Megan Stewart placed second in girls doubles. Jeff Lo and Blake Adrian advanced to the semi-finals in doubles before falling to the Woodlands. The tennis program goes into high gear this week with the JV and freshman teams playing at Klein on Wednesday and the varsity playing in the Cy-Fair tournament on Friday. Good luck tennis.

Lobo BBall Family,

The Lobo Basketball Teams had another exciting week. Tuesday, the Lobos took on the Cy-Woods Wildcats at all five levels. In the subvarsity teams, the Lobos were able to have another successful week going 5-3 against Cy-Woods and Cy-Lakes. It seems as if every game is coming down the final minutes and a few are being decided in overtime. The Sophomore and B Teams had big comebacks to find a way to win against Cy-Lakes. If you are able to get to the games a little early the subvarsity games are always a treat to watch. What is very impressive as the Head Coach of the program is to see the guys compete to the very last minute and find ways to win in a mulitude of ways. Many of the contributions come from an assortment of players and true team work is on display.

In Varsity action, the Lobos lost their first district game to Cy-Woods who also came into the game undefeated. In a game of runs, the Wildcats opened up a 21-4 lead only to see the Lobos answer with a 17-2 run of their own to cut the lead to 19-23. The Wildcats took a lead of 10 points going into halftime. However, the Lobos answered right back to take a lead in the 3rd quarter. In a game that went back and forth the Wildcats were able to pull ahead in the final minutes of the game for a 64-54 win. Friday night, the Lobos were in action against the Cy-Lakes Spartans who came into the game with a 3-2 district record after going through a brutal stretch of non-district games. The Spartans were battled tested by many of the top programs in the Houston Area. The Lobos had their hands full with the 3 point attack of the Spartans. On the night, the Lobos were able to withstand the 10 three pointers of the Spartans with transition baskets and a steady rebounding. The Lobos moved to 16-8 overall and 5-1 in district play tied with Cy-Woods who lost to Cy-Fair on Friday night. Cy-Ridge was also 4-1 going into Friday night’s game, but fell to Cy-Springs moving them to 4-2 in district. This year, every game on every night at every gym could have an unexpected outcome. The balance of the district is proving that every game will come down to the wire.
