The Bailadoras traveled to San Antonio over spring break to compete in their Nationals. The Dance Officers were honored with being named “National Grand Champion” for the second year in a row. They competed against girls from all over Texas. They received first place awards in Tap, Lyrical, Jazz and Novelty. The officers are : Captain: Hayley Banks, Captain: Allison Roehm, Senior Lieutenant: Alayna Switzer, Senior Lieutenant: Tara Flanagan, Lieutenant: Allison Corrigan and Lieutenant: Hannah Miller.

These girls have worked extremely hard weekend after weekend preparing for this years competition season and have led and directed their team to great success. The Seniors leaving will be greatly missed! They have had an outstanding two years together. Look for an article on these girls in the May/June issue of Cy Fair magazine.

The LCHS junior varsity softball team fell to the the Cy Fair Bobcats on Friday afternoon 6-0. The Lobos couldn’t adjust to the Bobcat’s pitching and were never able to get the bats going. The lone exception was freshman Gina Galeoto. Galeoto was first to bat in the third and hit a solid drive into left field for a single. She was stranded there as the next three Lobos all hit fly balls that were caught by the Bobcat infielders. Coming back to bat in the fifth with two outs Galeoto went the other direction putting the ball into right field for her second hit. But again she was stranded as the next batter put just onto the grass where it was easily fielded by the Bbocat second baseman.

The Lobos fared better defensively but allowed six runs on seven hits. Pitcher Hope Armstrong had three strikeouts but also had three walks.

The Lobo Varsity Softball team was shut out Friday night by the Cy-Fair Bobcats in a district game at LCHS. The Lobos worked to get a solid hit, and kept the Bobcats close only allowing 2 runs in the first six innings. Senior pitcher Lynsi Unruh kept the Bobcat batters off balance and was able to rely upon her defense, particularly the outfielders, as the Bobcats could only pop up one fly ball after another. Center fielder Jen Leissner came up with six big catches for outs. Playing left field Jordan Anders had three catches and right fielder Brittney Baker added another.

The seventh became the deciding inning though as the Bobcats broke through with four hits scoring three. The Lobos had the start of a rally in the bottom of the seventh. Jordan Thompson got the first Lobo hit of the night. She was forced out at second though when Jen Leissner also singled. Lauren Van Ness singled and the Lobos had two on base. Jackie Llinas came to bat and hit toward left but it was fielded by the third baseman who tagged Leissner for the second out. The final batter grounded out leaving Van Ness and Llinas on base.

The Lobos are in action again at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Cy Falls.

After an outstanding season, the boys basketball team is gaining recognition for their outstanding performances on the court.

The JV Lobos baseball Team Swept Cy-Springs and Cy-Falls, 8-0 and 7-0 respectively.

The JV Lobos baseball team continued their march to an undefeated district baseball season with a 8-0 blanking of the Panthers of Cy-Springs on Friday afternoon at Lobo Field. The Lobos jumped on the board early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the 1st on a RBI double to left-center by Will Arsola and a sac fly RBI to center field by Matt Richardson. The Lobos would go hitless and scoreless until the bottom of the 4th, when after a single by Richardson and a double by Alston, John Erck would have a single of his own Read the rest of this entry »

The Lobos took on three district foes last week in Cy-Creek, Cy-Springs and Cy-Falls. The Lobos went 1-2 for the week dropping close games to the Cougars and Eagles, while picking up their first district win vs the Panthers.

In Tuesdays action the Lobos faced off vs Cy-Creek and dropped a close 5-3 decision to the Cougars. Blaine Tompkins took the hill for the Lobos, and in his first Varsity start did a good job of keeping the Cougars off balance. Tompkins went 5 innings giving up 4 earned runs while striking out 6 Cougar batters and scattering 6 hits. Jeff Romine came on in relief and pitched a scoreless Read the rest of this entry »

Greetings Lobo Soccer Supporters,

Regardless of the outcome, the trip to Georgetown is certainly one that I hope all the boys will remember, and one that I feel will be influential as we move forward to 2011. In reflection, there are many things we did well, and clearly some breaks that did not go our way, but those things are unchangeable and we move on; it is what we do. I will say that Georgetown had one of the top 4 players I have seen in my 10 years coaching both HS and club, and clearly were one of the 3 most complete teams we have faced in my 8 years at Langham Creek. (The previous were Kingwood 2007 and Mayde Creek 2008)

I want to congratulate our seniors on Read the rest of this entry »

Lobo Nation,

I am sorry for the tardiness of this final newsletter. However, to be brutally honest, I have taken time to sit down several times to write the final newsletter of the 09-10 season and simply could not. It was too hard to muster the words that would try to do justice to the end of the season. The way the season ended was bittersweet. On one hand, seeing the team play at the end of the season was something that I will always remember. We played our best at the end of the season. That is always one of the biggest goals going into any season. We simply found a way to win close games and found a way to do it together. However, what could have been ate at me and the coaching staff as Lakeview Centennial advanced to the State Championship Game. I simply could not bring myself to write Read the rest of this entry »

Your Lobo tennis squad competed with 32 of the top teams in the state at the A&M Consolidated tennis tournament this past weekend. Steven McMullan placed second in boys singles. Hannah Witherspoon and Austin Harper placed 7th in mixed doubles. Jeff Lo and Todd Burack placed 9th in boys doubles. The Lobos finish up the regular season next week with their district tournament beginning on April 6th. Good luck net squad.

Thank you so much for all of the people who volunteered to take on PACK. What a great group of parents we have! Cindy Truitt has volunteered to be the PACK administrator and was the first one to respond to the request for those interested. Cindy and her husband, Mike, helped found PACK when their son Jacob Truitt was a freshman (he graduated in 2008). Their son, Josh, will be an LCHS freshman next year and Cindy will be around for four years, should she choose to continue to send out PACK for all four years.

We received so many nice emails and I thank you guys so much for everyone. I am thrilled that PACK will continue and look forward to reading about our awesome community and kids for years to come.

Cindy will be taking over this summer when the school year is up and we will have plenty of time to make sure all the emails were transferred correctly and all are up and running.

Volunteers please remember to log your hours!
Next Board Meeting:
Monday, September 13th at 7:00 pm in Room 1509. Come out and meet our Guest Speakers - LC New Coaches. Everyone is welcomed!
