Dear Lobos,

I would like to thank all of you very much for making our 2010 Spring Football Game a huge success and exciting for our athletes. This was the first time that any of us had put together something like this and without your help and attendance it would not have been possible. I want this to be a new part of the Langham Creek Tradition and am looking at ways to improve it from my end in the future.

A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who worked the concession stand and cooked hamburgers, the ladies who sold spirit items and offered booster club memberships, Steve Ross for setting up the helmet, Dave Alston for announcing the game, the cheerleaders for all their hard work and enthusiasm, the trainers for their commitment to our program, the alumni who we are extremely proud of, and all those in attendance for your support. Langham Creek is a great school and we have a special, close-knit community. I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of the Lobo athletic program and have a vision of great success in our future. Together, we are going to provide a positive high school learning experience for our young people. LOBO PRIDE!

Sincerely,
Todd Thompson
LCHS Athletic Director

The Men’s Soccer Program is pleased to release our provisional 2011 Soccer Schedule! The schedule is one of the most competitive that we have seen at Langham Creek High School, and will feature our Varsity side in 3 top level tournaments and 2 non-district match-ups with perennial powers. Our JV will be participating in 2 tournaments as well as 4 non-district matches against top level competition.

The schedule represents a tremendous challenge, with a mix of a variety of competitive styles, that we feel will prepare our side for greatness in 2011!

Mark your calendars early, and we will see you all in the stands!

We will be having our Spring Football Game this Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. on campus and would like invite everyone to come out and support our LOBO football players. We are dividing up the coaching staff and the players and will have 4 quarters of football for you to enjoy. There is no charge to get in the game and our Athletic Booster Club will have the concession stand open along with spirit items available for purchase.

These young men have been working hard for the past 3 ½ weeks and are very excited about next Fall. Please try and come out and show them how much you appreciate all their hard work. I know that they will be very excited if we can fill the bleachers Thursday night!

A special invitation goes out to all of our LOBO Football Alumni. We would like to invite you to come down and be recognized at halftime and feel free to stand on the sideline during the 2nd half.

Let’s make this exciting for our young men,
Todd Thompson

Our Senior softball players have worked very hard on and off the field for the past 12-13 years of their educational careers. The effort has definitely paid off for Varsity Outfielder Brittney Baker.

Brittney Baker has earned a full ride for Leadership and Academics to the University of Houston. Brittney actually earned 3 scholarships: $1,000 from Rotary Club of Bear Creek and Copperfield for her leadership in the Interact Club at LCHS; a partial scholarship from U of H for Academic Excellence; and a full scholarship from the Terry Foundation for Leadership and Academics. Brittney was chosen out of 1000 applicants to become a Terry Scholar.

Great job Brittney!!! Congratulations on your awards and may you succeed in all of your future endeavors!

WE have a student at Copeland that is in the fifth grade that was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer on Easter weekend. His mom is also one of our P.E. teachers. Griffin Turley has had surgery to remove a melon sized cancerous tumor that was on his kidney, and the kidney was removed also. He has been hospitalized most of the time since the diagnosis while undergoing very powerful chemo and radiation.

Copeland is organizing a March to raise money to help with expenses. Join the “March ” on Monday, May 24, from 6-8pm at the YMCA Track and Fields.

We would love for our Langham family to also show support.

March for Griffin

Thanks,
