STATE CHAMPION BAILADORAS PERFORM AT PEARL HARBOR!!
Published March 26, 2012On Saturday, March 10th the Langham Creek Bailadoras had the honor of performing on the USS Missouri in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The team performed a combination of dances set to patriotic music for all those touring the battleship to enjoy. This performance opportunity also allowed the team to tour the beautiful USS Arizona Memorial and soak in the historical impact of the events of December 7, 1941 which they have all learned about in U.S. History.
The trip to Hawaii was the perfect ending to a busy contest season in which the Bailadoras won a State title at the Crowd Pleasers Senior Texas Showcase of Champions held at Cy Falls High School on March 3rd.
At the Cy Falls contest, the Bailadoras received the Best in Class award for all five of their team dances and also won special awards for Technical Merit, Outstanding Technique, and Outstanding Choreography on the team dances. The State Champion designation in the Large Team Category resulted in a $300 check for the Bailadora Booster Club. The team also won the Overall State Grand Champion award (across all divisions and team sizes) and another $750 check to the Booster Club!
Dance officers Nikki Miller, Anna Berry, Amy Redmond, Paige Houghtaling, and Kourtney Zarker won Best in Class for their Lyrical, Modern and Novelty dances and Runner Up for their Jazz dance. The officers also received an Outstanding Technique award and Outstanding Choreography and Crowd Pleasers Award for their Lyrical performance. Dance officers were awarded 2nd Runner Up Overall State Grand Champion Officer line (across all divisions and team sizes).
Social Officers Margo Elder, Alexis Karis, Victoria Petruzzi, Erin Poerschke, and Lizzie Stallings won 1st Place for their social officer dance.
In the Duet category, Maddie Sheedlo and Kingsley Credeur received 3rd Runner Up. In the Trio category, Elisa Kelley, Nikki Miller and Amy Redmond received 1st Place. Kelly Davis, Alexis Karis and Victoria Petruzzi received 2nd Runner Up. Winning Ensembles included Paige Houghtaling, Jessica Jansen, Lauren Montalbano, and Kourtney Zarker (1st Place) and Kingsley Credeur, Courtland Klein, Maddie Sheedlo, and Katelyn Vincik (2nd Place). Congratulations to all the Bailadoras on a great Contest Season!
