Lobo Varsity rallies in 7th inning to topple the Cy-Ridge Rams:

On a night when it looked like the Lobos were going to let the Cy-Ridge Rams sneak away with a victory they rallied in the bottom of the 7th for a comeback win with a score of 11-10. It was a wild and crazy Tuesday night at Lobo Field with mother nature wreaking havoc on the players and fans with gusty winds for most of the night.
The fiesty Cy-Ridge Rams out hit our Lobos for most of the night only to falter in the bottom of the 7th on a thrilling comeback by our Lobos. The Lobo offense was lead by Eric Thomas (single), Connor Macalla ( 2 triples), Aaron Fletcher (single) and Heath Tillman (single).
Senior RHP, Ryan Pinkerton, Junior LHP, Gonzalo Sosa and Junior LHP, Eric Thomas combined on the mound to pull out the victory for the Lobos.
Lobo Varsity drops heartbreaker by a score of 7-4 to the Cy-Falls Eagles in 12 inning marathon game on Friday Night at Lobo Field:
Not even the rally rabbit that ran across the infield during the game could turn the luck for the Lobos as they lost a heartbreaker to the Cy- Falls Eagles in a 12 inning marathon on Friday night at Lobo Field. Our Lobos took an early lead in the 2nd inning. Then the Eagles went up 4-1 until the 5th inning when the Lobos scored 2 runs.  With the score 4-3 going into the bottom of the 7th, the Lobos tied it up on an error by the Eagles.  The game would stay tied until the 12th inning when the Eagles exploded for 3 runs to take the lead for good in this thriller.
Junior LHP, Aaron Fletcher started on the mound for the Lobos, allowing just 2 earned runs while allowing 6 hits with 12 K’s in 9 complete innings. Senior RHP, Ryan Pinkerton entered the game in the 10th inning and held the Eagles scoreless until the 12th inning when the Eagles hot hitter on the night hit a 2 run homer over the right field wall to take the lead for good. Senior RHP, Travis Meyer came in to relieve Pinkerton and closed out the 12th inning in fine fashion for the Lobos.  The Lobos kept their hopes alive when they put two runners on in the bottom of the 12th.  However, they couldn’t bring them around the bases to score.
The Lobo offense was lead by Tyler Rand (single), Connor Macalla (single), Aaron Fletcher (double, single), Aaron Wells (double), Tyler Ellison (double), Eric Thomas (single), Eric Flores (single) and Luke Van Ness (single).
Cy-Woods Wildcats too much for the Lobo Varsity on Saturday at Wildcat Field:
On Saturday afternoon at Wildcat field, Cy-Woods shut down the Lobo Varsity with excellent pitching and timely hitting to capture a district win by a score of 4 – 0.
On a day when the Lobo Varsity was still showing hangover effects from the long 12 inning marathon on Friday night, the offense just couldn’t get started in this must win district game at Wildcat Field.  Eric Thomas started off the 2nd inning with the Lobos only hit of the day (single) against an overpowering Wildcat pitching performance.
Junior LHP, Eric Thomas was on the mound for the Lobos allowing just 5 hits, 2 earned runs and 2 K’s in 6 innings. Junior LHP, Gonzalo Sosa entered the game in the 7th inning to shut down the side and close out the game for the Lobos.

The Lobo Varsity will play their last game of the season Friday night, April 26th against the Cy-Creek Cougars at Lobo Field. Senior Night ceremonies will he held prior to the game. Please check your upcoming Lobo Blast for details. Come support this great group of Senior Lobos on their last night to perform at Lobo Field.

JV BASEBALL POUNDS CY-RIDGE!!!
April 16, 2013 (Tuesday) - Tyler Ruth took to the mound first for four innings and struck out 2, walked 2, allowed 6 hits and 3 runs scored.  Ryan Finke relieved Ruth in the 5th and 6th innings.  The Rams posted 2 runs on 3 hits.  The Lobos scored five in the 1st inning, five in the  fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth as time expired.
Racking up hits for the day were Gurley, Joiner, Contreras, Titone, Martinez, Gonzales, Finke, Ford and Finkenstaedt.   Lobos win 14-5.
