Langham Creek High School Athletic Booster Club
"Hard work is the price we must pay for success."
Congrats to the JV team on their 10-6 win Tuesday night against Friendswood!!! The JV was led on offense by Tanner Mingen (3 goals) and Derek Tolliver (2 goals, as well as great face-off play), and a solid performance by the defensive unit by Brian Lee, Patrick Sullivan and Clayton Miller.
As for our Varsity, although the team continues to struggle to earn wins, every game shows improvement by boys who have only played together as an unit for a year and who jumped to the varsity level in their second year. In the 12-5 loss to Friendswood last night, the team was led on offense by Robert Baten (3 goals), on face-offs by Eric Faulkner and on defense by Josh Attra, Cale Rodriguez and Weston Wilborn. Most impressive was team’s 3 straight goals in the second quarter to tie the game at 3-3 at halftime.
Come out to support our teams for our final Home game of the season against Klein!

Lastly, calling at 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls interested in playing lacrosse next year. Please contact Coach Dyer at benjamin.dyer@cfisd.net for more information, particularly about playing for the Lobos next year as 9th graders, and about his newest venture to expand the boys’ lacrosse world in our area – a 7th and 8th grade team that covers our area in Houston only (generally speaking, Copperfield). The name is “To Be Determined”, but Coach Dyer will be passing along information as soon as his Lobos are done for this Spring season.
“ATTENTION ALL LOBO LACROSSE SUPPORTERS & PROSPECTIVE PLAYERS!!! All 7th to 12th grade boys and girls interested in learning more about playing lacrosse, please contact Coach Ben Dyer at benjamin.dyer@cfisd.net. The boys’ Lobo Lacrosse team (boys grade 9-12) is beginning its 2nd season, which will be a pivotal one – we begin play as a Varsity team and will have 2 teams competing in the Texas High School Lacrosse League!! Practices for the Fall tournament season have already begun but NEW players are always welcome!! (The teams’ regular season is in the Spring). Once school begins, Varsity and JV practices are on alternating days during the week and will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. No matter what day you decide you want to check us out, feel free to stop by and check out the Oldest sport that is truly American and known as the “Fastest Game on 2 Feet!” All 7th through 12th grade girls, please contact Coach Dyer to discuss your opportunities to play too. At present, the district has one team – the nationally recognized Cy Fair Iron Maidens (not solely affiliated with Cy-Fair HS). Who knows?! Will you be the next pack of Lobos to compete on your own? Lastly, for 7th & 8th grade boys, Coach Dyer is presently exploring whether the areas south of 290 have enough interest in lacrosse to create a second set of Cy-Fair district junior high boys teams. The earlier you start, the better you can be when you become a Lobo!
Coach Dyer would also like to congratulate the following boys who were voted into their 2001-12 positions as officers of the team: President, Ryan Curington; Vice-President, Alec Dewbre; Secretary, Nick Bishop; Treasurer/Equipment Mgr., Andrew Gee; and Rookie Coordinator, Robert Baten. The players also elected Josh Attra as their chosen Varsity Captain. Coach Dyer will select 2 other players this Fall to also be captains. Congratulations Boys!”
Thanks!!
Coach Dyer
