The last 4 games were a mixture of highs and lows for the Lady Lobo Varsity Soccer team. First they played Cy Fair, who was ranked #1 in the District. The game was played at the Berry Center, and the weather wasn’t providing the best conditions. And the Bobcats struck early, scoring in just the first few minutes of the game with an awesome cross to a player who was directly in front of the goal. Score Cy Fair 1, Langham 0. The Lobos were slower than Cy Fair, but they picked up their game and held Cy Fair from making that same play again. Great playing from the Defense, including goalie Kayla Damm, Nickie Schaaf, Leah Harlan, Nikki Germenis and Dana Clancy. With just a little bit of time left on the clock in the first half, Langham received a Free Kick and Nickie Schaaf had a great kick whichMichelle Petrarca headed, but narrowly missed the goal. At that, the clock ran out  with the Bobcats leading at half 1-0. In the second half, the Lobos immediately gave Cy Fair a corner kick. It was a great kick, but Michelle Petrarca had an awesome header to get the ball out of play for the Bobcats. They got the ball back and took it up the side, crossed in front of the goal again, the ball was fumbled around in front of the goal, Cy Fair finally had a good shot, but Kayla Damm had a great save. This started to get the Bobcats frustrated as they were used to scoring goal after goal against other teams. The play was then mostly on the Langham side of the field. But there were some glimpses of great playing and hustle by Maria ‘Speedy’ SopherNiana Hammonds, Carolyn Parker and Ashley Gleghorn. About 10 minutes into the half, Continue reading
